Dear Mother,

Day 4: The Crony virus quarantine is going well. Watching all the Bear Gryllis shows is really paying off. Last night after the warm front pushed through, I was even able to let the fire go out, after a few cold very damp days. My supplies are running low. I’ve been rationing to preserve, but I shall trek into town in a day or so to pick up my curbside order. Gotta keep my 6 foot distance. I’m down to 1 can of beans, and the maple tree water is about done for the season. I’ve tapped all that I can. Only 1 megaroll of TP left out of 18 remains. I never knew just how fast one can go through it. I totally get the rage now. It takes 2 rolls to get a good fire going in this damp weather. Unbelievably damp. The dewpoints are high today, so I expect it to be no easier tonight.

With the dewpoints so high and believe it or not mother, maybe even reach an uncomfortable mugginess tomorrow afternoon. I may be sweating as I cut more wood to get me through the incoming cold weather beyond tomorrow. Look at this tomorrow, dewpoints near 60, low to mid 60s dew points west around Morgantown.

Dewpoints mid 60s, a cold front west, mslp 1014mb, a setup for some storms. While it doesn’t look to be a large widespread severe outbreak. The SPC has a marginal risk tomorrow for some severe weather with a slight risk at a isolated tornado.. But dontcha worry, I’m well protected in the cave.

Then after this passes, I’ll need to get the fire rolling once again as temps are back into the 20s Saturday morning with a much drier air mass in place. Expect it to remain chilly all weekend with a cold high pressure in place. There will be plenty of sun however to counter the chill.

Looking at the latest ECMWF, it appears we may be setting up for some wintry weather come Monday morning.

There is still plenty of time for that to change, but other guidance is showing the threat as well. We shall see. So, be on guard for a potentially wintry scenario Monday morning. It’s by no means a lock to occur.

I shall wrote again soon, and update any severe and wintry threats as conditions become more evident.

Y’all stay safe, do take this Corona threat seriously, it is spreading very fast of just known cases. These numbers will drastically be going up in the coming days. This is still yet new. Only a few months in worldwide and briefly across the U.S. While you yourself may not feel threatened or at risk, keep in mind the elderly are more vulnerable and be mindful of how any of your interactions can travel person to person to someone that is more vulnerable, be it elderly or a compromised immune system. If the risk can be eliminated, eliminate it. Money, etc are not rulers vs saving a life.

The snow beginning

At 3:10pm snow began to break out across northern Garrett

In 15 minutes the ground was white

A half hour later

little over and hour after it began

However, this was not widespread and was mainly along this corridor

This left northern Garrett in the snow, while Accident had a light coating and bare from McHenry south. My drive from 6pm to 6:20 PM saw snow coverage like this:

1- Mchenry

2-Accident

3-Northern Garrett High School

4-Keysers Ridge, at 6:30pm before McHenry has any stickage, Keysers Ridge had a 1.7″ depth I measured by Little Sandy’s
