A sharp-eyed reader pointed out that the first 32F temperature on Oct 3 this fall means that the 2020 growing season was only 124 days, the shortest in all 22 years that data have been collect here. Of course, that very short period was due to the unusually late freezing temperature that occurred on June 1 this past spring. Table 10 has now been updated to reflect all growing seasons since 1999. Today is first time this fall with a min temp of 32 or below. Of the last 23 years of obs here, only twice has it occurred at an earlier date. See Table 10 below.
