Leaf Season in this immediate area:

  • Lots of birch and maple drop the last few days. Leaving some thin and bare spots with some of the brightest colors of our current fall foliage landscape. Cherry thins out rapidly and will not be providing much. The oaks with touches of change here and there. Well early for them. Beech, some yellow, some greens remain, before those brown up. Hickory, some yellow, some brown, some green. Ground cover(ferns, grasses) are golden, browns, with a few greens..

Leaf progression. Main species along the Yough for fall foliage is birch and maple.

  • While there is still yet birch to change, significant birch leaf drop has occured and will continue to do so as the remainder progress to golden yellows. Meaning this is probably nearly as good as it gets over the coming week. Maples, while not in abundance, adding splashes of reds, yellow, oranges, with some yet to complete there change. Leaf drop will be the big factor if it gets much better than it is now. I’d suspect it will slightly.
