Incoming Snowy And Cold Weekend

■ Winter Storm Warnings & Winter Weather Advisories

■ These are overlapped by Extreme Cold Warnings, Wind Advisories and or High Wind Warnings. This map actually has additional overlaps with advisories vs what is shown.

Snow activity increasing as we go through the day today. In general light amounts during the day. 10pm-4am looks to be the best snow period as the front crosses the area. Snow amounts are not extreme. However several inches with strong gusty winds, and falling temps on top a solid snowpack and snowbanks along the roads will aid in blowing, whiteout conditions and drifting.

Temps off the blended model overnight through Monday morning. That early Monday period may seem the coldest temps of this stretch in the typical coldest valley spots as skies clear and winds go calm. Thats a feature that doesn’t show up on 2m temp model graphics.

Winds gusting 35-45mph across the Alleghenies, with excess of 55mph over the high exposed Wv tops

Windchills. The coldest Windchill period is Saturday morning. Where Windchills run -20 to -30° for many over the Alleghenies, some of the higher exposed Wv tops -30 to potentially as low as -40. So be prepared if you may be outside for any length.
