Many areas, especially those that are predominantly maple, birch, cherry(which is not a good fall color species in general and drops leaves fast) aspen, that currently have good color, the leaf drop is occurring pretty fast. Seeing these fall color maps every year, they rarely resemble reality. Now, if you are in a oak dominated area, that’s a late changing tree, that also is not only late changing, it’s overall dull in color, those colors are a ways out though. Maples and birches give the best color. Those will be past peak this weekend.
