Spruce Knob, the highest location in West Virginia as well as the high point of the Alleghenies. Station siting on secondary peak at 4820′ on a small open knoll. Birch dominate west with Red Spruce mixed in. Exposure does have some windbreak westward with trees but not completely. Conditions north east are mainly open with some tops breaking the due east view.
