Good pictures of an unusual situation. Question: I’m guessing that the panorama pictures #5 and 6 are looking East toward the “valley and ridge” area of Eastern West Virginia and over into Virginia, although there are also high mountains to the west of Spruce Knob. I have been to the top of the mountain once in August when views were hazy. Many thanks for the daily photos. I have sent the link to Dr. Howard Neufeld at App State in Boone, NC who is the resident fall foliage expert for the NC mountains. Coincidentally, he grew up just down the road from you in Frederick though he did not visit far western Maryland when he was growing up. In the Fall foliage season he does a daily Facebook post at Fall Color Guy Facebook.
